Costa Diva Restaurants

The "Costa Diva" Restaurant chain started in the wake of the cultural touristic itinerary "Costa Diva" (Film- Star Coast) - "Le vie del cinema" (The Cinema routes). It was created to promote and improve the popularity of the natural settings of scores of movies shot along the whole of the Amalfi Coast by world famous film directors and cast including, amongst others, Roberto Rossellini, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Roman Polanski, Marcello Mastroiani, Humphrey Bogart, Anna Magnani, Ingrid Bergman, etc. Restaurants in this chain have decided to include in their menus special topical dishes linked to film-stars or directors who have contributed to making movie history of the Amalfi Coast.

SCORZETTE alla EKBERG (Fresh homemade pasta Ekberg style)

In 1961 Anita Ekberg, resident guest of the Duchess who owned Villa Civita in Ravello, came to our Restaurant with a number of merry friends. Inspired by such a famous patron - at the time the actress was riding on the crest of the wave in popularity - Zi' Ntonio himself, who had been private cook to Rommel, the famous World War II "Desert Fox", created, on the spur of the moment, a new dish which must be appreciated by the refined palate of the actress. That is how the SCORZETTE alla EKBERG started, which is a fresh homemade pasta served in a sauce of pore mushrooms from the local Lattari Mountains and garnished with seasonal vegetables from the proprietors' orchard, plus a little ... well-kept secret. The film star liked the dish immediately, both for its taste and its exclusive originality. Thanks to his creativity and charm Zi' Ntonio won popularity with all guests who became regular patrons because of the excellence of his cuisine. This event helped in the rapid success of the newly started touristic attraction.
